Hiking, biking, swimming, and skiing form the four pillars of the small community of Incline Village tucked away in the banana-belt area of Lake Tahoe. The residents, both full time and part-time, take those fundamental precepts seriously, doing their utmost to keep hiking and biking trails pristine, the Diamond Peak ski area in top-notch condition and the beaches clean, safe and private.
Families rule in Incline Village. In winter, small ones can be seen practicing their first snowplows down the Diamond Peak bunny hill, or sledding down the smaller snow covered hills on one of the two community golf courses. In the summer, children are busy with golf lessons, tennis instruction, or learning to swim in either the indoor or outdoor pool.
Couples looking for a dining experience can head down to the Hyatt’s Lone Eagle. This restaurant and bar has live music by our very own Luke Stevenson and sits right on a beautiful white sand beach overlooking Lake Tahoe. In the summer a dockside bar gently rocks the patrons as they watch the boats pass by. By all account, a lake view from the top of the hill can be experienced at Big Water Grill with an expansive outdoor deck and fantastic food.
Incline Village certainly is an all-round community for everyone. Whether it’s whizzing down a ski hill, parasailing over Lake Tahoe’s immaculately clean waters or simply star-gazing at night, few people can resist its charms.
